The National Reined Cow Horse Association
The National Reined Cow Horse Association, the governing body of cow horse competition, is responsible for promoting the sport, insuring high standards of competition and educating members and the public about the history and tradition of the reined cow horse. Formed in 1949, the organization was originally called the California Reined Cow Horse Association. Despite the name change, the association has continued to celebrate the early California traditions of highly-trained working cow horses and today, 58 years after its creation, continues to work to keep the vaquero tradition alive in today’s equine industry. Tommy Thompson
Tommy believes that horses should not be burned up just for the hopes of one show. Every horse has something they can be good at.
If the big futurities and derbies are the goal, we can find a horse that can fill that bill. Tommy will not try to fit a square peg in a round hole.
Tommy has developed a good reputation for producing solid show horses, putting a quiet foundation on young prospects and for handling tough stallions.
